MOSOP
Issues Guideline, Timetable For Election
Movement for the
survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has drawn up guidelines for
the conduct of its election scheduled to hold in December, 2011.
The guidelines
were issued after a meeting of the Electoral Committee held on
September 27, 2011.
The guidelines,
signed by the chairman and secretary of the electoral committee,
Mr Ziinu N.M and Mr. B.B Nwikabari, respectively stated that
town/chapters should send the register of members with dues
through their Kingdom Co-ordinators to reach the Electoral
Committee on or before October 3, 2011, adding that dues shall
be payable at the national secretariat, Peace and Freedom
Centre, Bori or MOSOP office, 6 Etonahia close, by Kia Motor,
Off Olu Obasanjo Road, Port Harcourt.
It would be
recalled that MOSOP had at its last steering committee meeting
held in PH and presided over by its president, Mr Ledum Mitee
set up a five member electoral committee with Mr Monday Ziinu as
chairman, Chief Emmanuel Nkalasi, Barr Emmanuel Ebeh and Chief
Popsaansi Karikpo – members and a Senior journalist with Radio
Rivers, Mr B.B. Nwikabari as secretary to midwife a new
executive for MOSOP and its constituent arms.
MOSOP president,
Ledum Mitee had during this years' Ogoni Day Celebrations
announced that he will no longer run for the office as his
present term expires this year.### |
