Eze Nwaji Is A God-fearing Traditional Ruler ~Rev Nyeche
A man of God, Rev Ibekwe Nyeche has said that traditional rulers
play important roles in sustaining peaceful co-existence of
people with diverse ethnic backgrounds that are resident in
their domain.
Rev Nyeche who made the remarks while conducting a special
church service to mark Oyigbo Urban Community end of year prayer
conference at the palace of Eze Oha Oyigbo, noted that it was
only the royal fathers like Eze Mike Nwaji (JP) who govern their
people with the fear of God that can succeed in bringing the
much desired unity, peace and progress to their subjects.
Rev Nyeche who ministers at the Assemblies of God in Oyigbo
observed that the society will be a better place if leaders of
all classes rule in God's direction and described Oyigbo people
as lucky for having Eze Nwaji as their king.
Also speaking, the palace secretary, Rev Precious Eweruka said
the people of Oyigbo are proud of Eze Nwaji as their paramount
ruler because of his strong belief in the unity and peaceful
co-existence of the people, stressing that the monarch had at
various times fought against the marginalization of his people
and has created an enabling environment for businesses to
thrive, created a platform for the existence of harmonious
relationship and above all, attracted government attention in
the area.
On the performance of the Council Chairman, Hon Felix Nwaeke,
the palace secretary pointed out that his administration is
sound and cannot be compared to the immediate past one that
ended up in crisis and left the people of Oyigbo impoverished,
cautioning the council chairman against the attitude of
sycophants around him who according to him are all out to spoil
his good work.
Rev Eweruka who praised Gov Amaechi for directing contractors to
quickly move in and reconstruct Oyigbo major roads used the
forum to call on the people of Oyigbo to disregard the
utterances of one Mr Sunday Ojijiagwo who goes about parading
himself as the Eze of Oyigbo when “he has not been made an
ordinary compound chief by anybody”.
He said Sunday Ojijiagwo's chieftaincy title that he is wearing
was bought at Owo in Abia State, noting that such a man ought to
be treated with disdain and finally called on the people of
Oyigbo to contrive to reaffirm their loyalty and support to His
Royal Highness, Eze Mike Nwaji, one and the only elected,
crowned and installed king of the land.###
