Late Elder Edward Amadi Laid
to Rest

June, 30th 2012 may have
come and gone, but its
activities especially the
burial of Elder Edward
Nwauwa Jonathan Amadi will
ever remain in the hearts of
Ozuzu clan of Etche Local
Government Area of Rivers
State and immediate family.
Late Elder Edward Amadi who
was born in March 31st, 1927
in Akizor Umuezeagha of
Obokwu Community in Ozuzu
Town, Etche to late Chief
Jonathan Nwa-Amadi and late
Mrs Violet Mgbeke Amadi died
a month ago at the age of 85
and was buried in his
residence in Ozuzu.
According to his step-son,
Hon. (Engr.) Victor Amadi,
member representing Etche
constituency I in the Rivers
State House of Assembly,
late Edward was greatly
loved, and cherished for his
sincerity of purpose as he
was not ready to compromise
falsehood, was very careful
and diligent in money
matters, especially when it
had to do with the issue of
trust.
Hon. Amadi, while recounting
late Edwards activities
said, he identified with his
mates on cultural and social
life. He was a good soloist
of the Adima music and
Wrestling/Ogbudumgbaa music
and was known as a great
wrestler. He attended
Central School Ozuzu in
1937, Central School Okomoko
in 1943 and Native
Administration School Ozuoba
but could not make it to the
university due to the death
of his parents.
Until his death, he was a
devoted Christian in Christ
the King Anglican Church,
Ozuzu.
The family, Hon. Amadi said
have taken Solace in God
Almighty who in His infinite
mercy will grant him eternal
rest.### |
