Assembly Press Corps Condoles Late Chairman's Family

By Ngozi Anosike

The Rivers State House of Assembly Press Corps and the House committee on information have paid a condolence visit to the family of  late press corps chairman, Mr. David Afonwa.

Consoling the wife and his children, the chairman of the House committee on information, Hon. Onari Brown described Mr Afonwa as a simple and humble man, regretting that his death came when the Assembly and the corps he was leading needed him most.

He noted that late Dav Afonwa showed so much commitment and responsibility to  Press corps regretting that death is a bad reaper that reaps even the unriped fruits.

He advised the wife to take solace in God who it has pleased to call Dave home at this time and who alone can grant her the grace to bear her husband's death as well as take care of the responsibilities her late husband left for her.

He prayed God to strengthen her and give her the grace to cope with the husband’s demise and advised her to be strong in order to take care of the children.

Praying God to give her the fortitude to bear the loss, the director of Press, Mr. Tams Dede assured her that the Rivers State House of Assembly and i’s Press corps will always stand by her.###
