Ikuru Tasks Church Leaders On Moral  Virtues

Church leaders have been charged to imbibe and display holiness, discipline, dedication and other moral virtues for successful end of service.

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru gave this charge during a send-forth service for worldwide President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Elijah Olusheye at Christ Apostolic Church, Diobu, Port Harcourt.

Commending Pastor Olusheye for commencing and successfully retiring from active ecclesiastic work, Engr. Ikuru enjoined the succeeding Worldwide President of the church, Pastor Abraham Akinosun to emulate the sterling leadership style of his predecessor.

"One thing is to start a race, another thing is to end the race well; Papa Olusheye finished his race with grade 'A'; as for the in-coming President, you need to brace up for a big task of stepping into Papa's shoes because his shoes are large”, Engr. Ikuru said.

In his valedictory speech, the Out-going President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Elijah Olusheye thanked God for the outstanding performance of the Pastorate, Ministers and Workers of the Church, urging them to "continue in that spirit" as serving God in religious or political spheres attracts problems which can only be overcome through righteous living and spiritual uprightness.

Also speaking, the General Overseer of Abundant Life Church, Apostle Eugene Ogu lauded Pastor Olusheye for leaving legacies of sincerity, hard work and dedication for his subordinates, calling on Pastors who administer churches to follow his foot-step.

On continuity, the In-coming President of the Church, Pastor Abraham Akinosum appealed to the Pastors and members of the Church to give him and his team the kind of support they extended to Pastor Olusheye.

Earlier in his sermon titled; "The icon has fought a good fight"; taken from 2nd Timothy 4:7, the chairman of the Rivers District Conference Centre of the Church, Pastor Godwin Osuigbo said the retiring President has fought a good fight like Apostle Paul, describing him as detribalized, prayerful, disciplined, holy and dedicated, calling on Pastors to eschew materialism but emulate his good works.###
