Etche LG Chairman Launches  Second Batch Of Transport

As his contribution to complement the Rivers State Governor's palliative measures as regards the increase in fuel pump price, the Etche Local Government Chairman, Hon. Barr Regionald Ukwuoma has donated another set of buses to the people of Etche to reduce sufferings associated with high cost of transportation.

Speaking to a team of journalists after commissioning the buses at the council Head quarters, Okehi, said, he would continue to embark on people oriented projects that have direct impact on the grass root.

According to the Etche council Boss, those who find it difficult to travel home because of high cost of transport fares have no reasons now for not visiting home, saying, attendance of family, community meetings will now be regular.

 Hon. Ukwuoma while speaking to journalists said, from mile 3 park to Etche (Igbodo) now cost  N2oo as against former N400  while Rumukurushi to Etche (Igbodo) attracts N200 as against former N400. He said reasons for the reduction in the transport fare is to make sure the removal of fuel subsidy does not create hardship.

Barr Ukwuoma reiterated his commitment to work with the road transport workers to maintain the cordial relationship which had existed for years, but pleaded with them to bear the reduction in transport fares by the  council.

In a related development, the leader of Etche legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwekwe and the National Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) chairman, Comrade Florence Nwala thanked the council chairman for having a listening ear. They expressed support for the development efforts of Governor Amaechi.###
