Kelga Acting Chairman Reads Riot Act To NULGE

The Acting Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon
Bestman Amadi has made it clear to the staff of the council
that he will not condone truancy, lateness and absentism to
work during the short tenure of his administration.
Hon Bestman handed down the warning recently at the council
headquarters, Isiokpo, when he held meeting with the staff
of the council.
According to the Acting Chairman, every council staff must
justify his or her salaries by being on duty, stressing that the
agendas of his boss, Hon Welendu Amadi will continue to be
priorities pending his return to the council. He advised all to
extend hands of fellowship to him as they did to his
boss.
Answering questions shortly after the meeting in his office,
the Acting Chairman said before two months foundation of a new
council secretariat will be laid, while payment of N18,000.00
minimum wage will begin from the month of January.
Hon Bestman maintained that payment of 70% salary arrears will
be implemented without delay while the meeting with NULGE will
be a regular one.
He said, Ikwerre Local Government area is in support of the
removal of fuel subsidy, and requested federal government to
subsidize carrot, onion, groundnuts etc.
On the issue of kidnap, the acting chairman said, the rate of
crime has reduced to the barest minimum in Kelga with the help
of JTF, community policing as well as police in the area. He
reiterated his commitment to build a permanent JTF camp for
adequate policing of the area.
Hon Amadi used the opportunity to clarify the N500,000.00 (Five
hundred thousand naira) scholarship he awarded to a 10 year old
boy whose father is blend, saying it was to enable him go to
school.###
