great loss to the Rivers people.

Professor at Okrika could not hide his emotions about the sudden
demise of the late pioneer Professor of Anatomy in Rivers State

the nation and the State in particular through his various
breakthroughs in research in medical sciences that won him an
International acclaim.
“Late Professor Obuoforibo was the first graduate of the
University of Lagos to become a Professor”, Dr Sekibo revealed.
Also recalling his roles at home as both community leader and
educationist, Dr Sekibo said the relative peace being enjoyed
today in the State could not have been complete without late

restoration of peace in the State.
As a man of many parts, Dr Sekibo said he wished Prof Obuoforibo
lived longer to impact more on his numerous students and

take solace in the fact that he was a man of great ideals and
principles who was very well respected by all.
“But the world, Nigeria and Rivers State will continue to thank
God for blessing them with the like of late Medical Doctor and
Professor of Anatomy, an educationist par excellence,
researcher, lecturer and administrator, soldier, devout
Christian, community leader, public affairs analyst etc and will
always remember him in prayers for the peaceful repose of his
gentle soul”, Dr Sekibo assured.
The Medical Doctor turned politician, Dr Sekibo, himself an
illustrious son of Okrika also prayed God to grant the wife and
