Okorocha Presents N174.36b Budget

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State over the weekend presented
a budget of N174.3 billion to the State House of Assembly.
The budget which is made up of capital projects and recurrent
expenditures according to the governor would be applied in
providing employment opportunities, removal of poverty, road
construction, building of hospital, development of seven (7)
towns in Imo State, among which is Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise and
revitalization of agricultural sector, taking Adapalm and Avutu
Obowo poultry into consideration.
The governor while presenting the budget stressed the need for
accountability and urged public servants to keep accurate
financial records, adding that the local government councils in
the state should record both the internal and external economic
activities and know how many of their citizens earn their living
from them.
Responding, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt.
Hon. Benjamin Uwajimogu thanked Governor Okorocha for his
personal sacrifices, good leadership qualities and the good
understanding between the executive and the legislature in the
state.###
