Comrade Uju disclosed that
the RIVPEACE as they are
called was formed two years
ago with the sole aim of
preaching peace, love, unity
and promoting the interest
and value of all Rivers men
as well as encouraging
employment and sustainable
developments in the state
via the word of God.
He also used the medium to
commend Governor Amaechi for
his developmental steps on
indolent and greedy
contractors on quick project
delivery in the state but
appealed to him to pay
priority attention to the
empowerment of youths of the
state as it will go a long
way in eradicating crime.
He decried the way
employment opportunities
meant for Rivers youths are
being sold out to
non-indigenes thereby
leaving its citizens with
evil and negative thoughts
as they are jobless.
“We are the treasure base of
the nation and most of our
youths are still languising
in poverty. What we have is
what our visitors are using
to enrich themselves but we
the citizens of the state
are eating like ants.
We are calling on the state
government and other stake
holders in the state to be
wise and realize that the
jobless youths today will
turn to be the leaders of
the state tomorrow therefore
they should have every cause
to empower them so that they
can prepare for a better
tomorrow” he posited.
He therefore called on all
peace loving citizens of the
state to join in their
struggle for unity, peace
and love as it will be
beneficial to them and their
generations yet unborn.
Pastor Simon E. Okenna in
his sermon titled ' Night of
Light' noted that Rivers
state will in no distant
time witness an unlimited
light from God if only they
will hearken to his
directives and allow justice
to prevail in all their
doings.
The clergy regretted how the
righteous especially
ministers have sold their
birthright which according
to him is the supremacy of
God in them for politics and
other selfish reasons.
He further prayed God to
eliminate every pharaoh and
raise a leader like the
biblical King Solomon in the
state who will be just and
transparent in their
leadership style.
He therefore charged the
entire Rivers Citizens to
partner with the RIVPEACE in
the most peaceful form by
constant prayers for Unity
and the upliftment of Rivers
State to a greater
