Kelga Boss To Commission Water, Light and Legislative Chambers Soon

The Ikwerre local government council will soon commission some multi million naira projects executed by the present administration of Hon. Sir Welendu Amadi.

In Isiokpo, the headquarters of Ikwerre local government, the council has embarked on the rehabilitation of the water scheme to serve the entire community, while in Apani, the electrification of the community has reached 85% completion and the new legislative assembly initiated and abandoned by the previous administration will also be completed.

This was made known recently when the leader of Ikwerre Legislative Assembly Rt. Hon. Lawrence Wagbara, his Deputy, Chief Hon. Thompson E. Amadi and the chief whip Hon. Chemberline Woji went round to ascertain the level of work done by the contractors as part of the House's over sight functions.

Speaking to a team of Journalists at Isiokpo, the leader, Rt. Hon. Wagbara said, the rehabilitation of Isiokpo water scheme became imperative due to the nature of the community coupled with the nature of the river in the area. He said, the Apani electrification became necessary, because Apani Community remains the only community in Rivers State without light.

The leader maintained that the council had always considered projects which had direct bearing on the people, and said; the legislative building also became imperative due to the deplorable condition of the old building, which he said is unable to contain all the councilors and staff of the arm.

Hon. Wagbara told newsmen that inspection of the projects became necessary considering the cordial relationship which exists between the Executive and legislatures of the council, adding that the three projects will soon be commissioned.###
