Removal Of Fuel Subsidy: Ozuzu Clan Demands 5 Buses As Palliative Measure

        By Amadi Gilbert.

The recent commissioning of ten (10) buses by the chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Reginald Ukwuoma as palliative measure to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy in Etche, and his neglect and failure to allocate one or more buses to the OZUZU clan has been condemned by the indigenes of the area.

Etche Local Government Area according to them is made up of five clans and Ozuzu is the highest in terms of population with seven(7) clans but it is surprising that the chairman of Etche Local Government Area procured ten (10) buses to alleviate hardship in terms of transportation without considering Ozuzu clan, adding that he should be called to order by his advisers before he brings division in Etche.

Indigenes of the clan questioned the chairman's decision not to allocate any bus to the area and advised him to reverse the plan and allocate five (5) buses to operate round Ozuzu clan from Ozuzu to Orwu to Ihie to Port Harcourt that will charge #200 fare. The people alleged that the ten (10) buses he procured were being used for his private business, saying that, why he allocated them to operate from his village Igbodo to port Harcourt.

Indigenes of Ozuzu  therefore called on the chairman to apologies for denying them this right.###
