Thanksgiving: Crown Prince Odum Wishes Dad Prosperous Long Reign

The Crown Prince of Oginigba Kingdom in Obio Akpor Local Government Area (OBALGA), Allwell Odum, has expressed heartfelt wishes of prosperity and long reign for his father, HRH, King Amb. G. B Odum, JP.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving service in honour of the monarch held at St Jude’s Anglican Church, Oginigba, on Sunday, July 30, 2023, Prince Odum delivered a touching message that captivated the audience, praising God for divine healing upon his father.

The younger Odum who extolled the king’s leadership and dedication to the kingdom, added that God truly showed that He loves his family considering the gravity of the illness.

“My happiness knows no bound considering that the fact we are gathered here today is not for a funeral service but for a thanksgiving . This Is the major reason my family and I are full of joy”, he said.

Prince Odum recalled the sermon delivered by the Vicar with the caption, “What will the Lord remember about you on the day of your challenges, a case study of King Hezekiah,” attributing the sermon to his dad who he said, worked tirelessly with his Council of Chiefs to ensure that the stool of Oginigba was recognized by the past governors of Rivers State, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and Chief (Barr)/ Nyesom Wike respectively.

He disclosed that King Odum and his Council attracted NDDC to tar the roads of Oginigba, adding that the on-going street lights project by NDDC is courtesy of his dad and many other people oriented projects.

The prince ceased the opportunity to commend the dignitaries who joined them in the special Thanksgiving Service. They include: the paramount ruler of Rumuogba, HRH Eze Temple Ejekwu, HRH Eze Samuel Wopara, paramount ruler of Rumuobiakani, HRH Eze Ezebunwo Adele, paramount ruler of Rumumasi, Eze Victor Worluchem, High Chief Clement Eke and HRH, Eze G. N. Chukwumgba JP, Paramount Ruler of Rumurolu Community.

In his speech at the occasion,, King Odum expressed immense joy for surviving what he described as the toughest illness he has ever encountered, adding that the thanksgiving was dear to him because God showed him absolute mercy.

The monarch further admonished people to live a good life worthy of emulation by the future generations anywhere they find themselves as, according to him, life is but a mist that only last for a moment.

“Therefore, as we celebrate the mercies of God towards my life, my doors are open for reconciliation. People are bound to make mistakes, we must learn to forgive one another and move on”, he said.
