Bille Stakeholders Pour Encomiums On Outgoing Youths Exco

Bille Kingdom critical stakeholders have continued to pour encomium on Bille Kingdom Youth Federation (BJYF) outgoing 9th Assembly Executives led by Asatubo Obirabi Sanipe Sylvanus for not only establishing a functional structure for the youth body to build on but also setting a developmental bench mark for future leaders of the area.

Speaking in a separate interview with newsmen during the final ceremony to usher in the 10th Assembly Executives led by Pastor Iyowuna M. Diri at the Youths Liaison office in town area of Port Harcourt, they stated that what the immediate past youths executives have demonstrated is nothing but a determination to succeed through selfless services and transparent leadership.

According to the 5th Assembly Executive President, Mr. Okesiyesima Gilpin “the modest achievements of the outgoing exco in three years show that there is no task that is impossible when there is unity of purpose”.

One of the teachers recruited by the Youth Exco to reactivate the teaching of Bille indigenous dialect at a designated secondary school in the area, Mr. Hutton Esenebebo Alphonso said they were exemplary in their leadership style, a situation which he noted ensured the peaceful atmosphere that enabled the body to concentrate on how to leave a worthy legacy. He recommended them for future leadership roles in the kingdom.

A former chairman of Bille Kingdom, Asatubo Igbanibo Kemuel in his remarks commended the 9th Assembly Exco members for their peaceful disposition and respect for constituted authority during their tenure which he noted helped in no small way in producing the celebrated results.

He was particularly happy for the physical assets acquired for the youth body as well as the opening of a bank account with a cash balance of N150,000  left for the incoming executives for easy take off.

Asatubo Kemuel used the opportunity to advise the incoming executives to sustain the peaceful disposition of the Bille people and endeavour to improve on the success recorded by carrying everybody along in the administration.

One of the Assets handed over by the outgoing exco included a confidential secretary, Mrs. Aduko A. Umoren with complete secretarial equipments and a standby generator at the Youths Liaison Office, No. 85 Victoria Street, Port Harcourt.

At the event Asatubo Sylvanus used the opportunity to reel out some of his challenges during his tenure in an interactive session with newsmen to include the absence of any handover notes nor a contact venue for their meetings.

“There was no one to show us any road map, neither was there any structure on ground to build on. Also we started with no fund, no bank account, no direction on how to move ahead”.

He said however that since they were determined to succeed, they made a lot of sacrifices and that with God on their side, they have cause today to celebrate.

The former Youth President expressed his readiness to support his successor to succeed in office.

Reacting, the current BKYF President Pastor Iyowuna Mpakabuari Diri promised on behalf of his executives not to betray the confidence repose on them.

He equally promised an open door policy and an all inclusive administration where everyone will be given a role to play in the interest of Bille Kingdom.

Pastor Diri equally promised to work with all stakeholders in the area including the security agencies to improve on the existing peace in the area to fast track the much needed development of Bille Kingdom.  

He appealed to the outgoing executives to always lend their support to them whenever they seek for same in course of their assignment.

Highlight of the event was the dedication of the BKYF Liaison office by Pastor Tom West Paago of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Port Harcourt.

The man of God preached on the need for the youths and indeed Christians to believe and depend wholly on God. Quoting Psalms 127, he said that “except the Lord builds, the builders labour in vain.

Likewise that “except the Lord watcheth the city, the watchman watcheth in vain.” He made it clear that whatever that is handed over to God is sound, safe and secured.

Pst Tom West Paago prayed for peace, unity, progress and long life of the exco members and indeed Bille Kingdom.
