Gov Wike, Deputy Preach Love, Peace, Unity At Christmas

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on Christians to use this Christmas to promote love, peace and unity.

Governor Wike, in a Christmas Message, urged Christian faithful to remain committed to the worthy ideals exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ as they celebrate the Yuletide. 

He advised the people of the state to use the season to deepen their faith in God as God has the solution to all societal challenges. 

Governor Wike assured the people of the State that his administration working with all security agencies will ensure a peaceful celebration of the season. 

He advised the privileged in the state to use the season to reach out to the less privileged as a measure of deepening friendship and communal living. 

The governor assured the people that his administration will continue to build a new Rivers State where everyone would benefit from the programmes and projects of the State Government.

Meanwhile, Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has described Christmas as a season of love, joy and laughter.

 Dr. Banigo disclosed this in a statement from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday 24th December, 2020 to felicitate with the Rivers People as they Celebrate the year 2020, Christmas.

The Deputy Governor who prayed the Almighty God to continue to give the Rivers People reasons to be joyful said Christmas demonstrates the love of God for mankind, who sent His only begotten son to redeem man from his sinful nature to a state of perfection, noting that Christians must love one another and eschew bitterness and rancour at all times.

The Deputy Governor said in view of the Covid 19 Pandemic Christians must celebrate Christmas with decorum and strictly observe all Covid 19 protocols as directed by the World Health Organization Federal Ministry of Health and the Rivers State Government.

Dr. Banigo, urged the Rivers People to continue to support   the Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led Administration, noting that the State Government is collaborating with the security agencies to ensure that citizens enjoy a hitch free yuletide and wished them a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
