OPM Overseas Scholarship: 45 More Indigent Children Depart For Turkey

…As OPM G.O., Apst. Chibuzor Says, ‘No End To Work of Charity’

Despite the ravaging global effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) cannot renege and will continue to do that in which God is greatly glorified among which is providing for the less privileged, the poor and the helpless not only to feed but also  realize their full potentials (destiny) in life.

These were the parting words of the great OPM General Overseer, Apostle (Dr.) Gift Chinyere Chibuzor at the departure wing of the Port International Airport, Omagwa Saturday, October 17, 2020 as the 45 beneficiaries of the OPM overseas scholarship left the shores of Nigeria to Turkey for professional and educational studies in three Turkish Universities.

It was a dream come true for the Overseas bound  indigent students who sat for the qualifying examination early this year but were put on hold as a result of the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in February.

With tears of joy, the lucky brilliant chaps expressed their gratitude to their benefactor, and G.O. of OPM, Daddy Chinyere Chibuzor for giving them hope again and showing them love never dreamt of, because of their peculiar circumstance and situation, and prayed God to continue to empower him with good health, long life and prosperity.

Among the 45 OPM sponsored foreign students include the 17yr old rape victim, and mother of twins, Mary Joseph, Redemption Pepple whose father and mother died a few years ago after embarking on dry fasting and were adopted by the OPM, Prisca Onubu, whose father was a cultist (Iceland Point 1) but later repented and surrendered his arms, Ifeanyichukwu Bright, the son of one of the Ikoku four – Ifeanyichukwu Onyekwere, some of the prostitutes picked and lifted from the streets of Port Harcourt.

Narrating her pathetic story, the emotion laden Redemption Pepple, Visual Communication Design student (from Opobo in Rivers State) said she and her sibling were at the time of their misfortune, living with their parents in Etche, also in Rivers State.

As devout Christians, their parents as usual were observing three days of dry fasting when tragedy struck. Both parents died during the exercise, leaving them orphans and hopeless.

Luck however, smiled on them when one of the police officers who took custody of them upon discovering the mysterious death talked to them about the OPM Church and also went further to draw the attention of Apst. Chinyere Chibuzor to their predicament who immediately instructed that they be brought to OPM where the two lads live till date.

That of Mary Joseph (from Akwa Ibom State) seems more pathetic. At the age of 14, she was putting up with the mother, a widow in an uncompleted building in Oyigbo, Rivers State where they hawked table (pure) water to earn a living.

They were said to have run down to Oyigbo for refuge no sooner than the father died no thanks to a wicked uncle who could not let the mother be. Their case got messier when she was attacked at the uncompleted building, and raped by a fleeing predator.

It was when she was refered to OPM free hospital that the attention of the OPM G.O.,  Apostle Chinyere Chibuzor was drawn to her predicament and there and then adopted her, gave her accommodation in OPM free estate, cared for her until she was delivered of twin bouncing baby boys early last year.

The two boys are now one year and five months old. It was while nursing the kids that the 17yr old Mary Joseph completed her secondary school in OPM free school.

When the opportunity for overseas scholarship came calling, the teenage mother of twins was one of those who wrote the qualifying exams, passed and is now in Turkey for a University education.

Addressing newsmen as the Overseas bound students filed out at the airport, the smiling Apostle Chinyere Chibuzor said his motivation and joy is the glory given to God for his kind gestures, benevolence and philanthropy.

According to the great man of God, it’s amazing the glory that is given to God by not only the beneficiaries but also their relations, friends and well-wishers who keep thanking God for them.

“It’s God that takes the glory and has confirmed his happiness by blessing OPM the more and wroughting signs and wonders among OPM members. In OPM, hundreds of thousands have been blessed in their businesses, finances, families, careers, marriages, etc and these people including those that have been given jobs overseas in turn show appreciation to God through their offerings and tithes which we use to do all this.

“Most importantly, our divine distributors led by Chief Dr. Mark Effeh have been greatly blessed and used by God to bless others. We are indeed thankful to them and grateful to God. We’ll continue to do more.

“The first batch that we sent to Turkey were about 20 students, this batch is 45 students, next batch will be more. Plans are also underway to sponsor Master’s Degree students abroad and many more,” the OPM G.O Apst Chibuzor declared.

Recall that so far, OPM has 15 free schools across the country, 18 residential estates, two free hospitals, free restaurant, got overseas jobs for a countless number of persons, sponsored numerous students to overseas universities for further studies, started business for many, trained hundreds of thousands on skills acquisition, most of them, repented cultists, armed robbers and commercial sex workers, doled out various sums of money to the poor, started petty trading, for others, etc.

These beneficiaries cut across tribes, religions and denominations.
