Insecurity Challenges: NAWOJ Holds National Solemn Assembly

Worried by the activities of bandits, herdsmen, unknown gunmen, terrorists, and Boko Harams in the country, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has organized a National Solemn Assembly to cry unto God for intervention.

The action which was considered necessary was  sequel to the appeal from the national Secretariat of the organization to consider as a matter of importance and national concern the need to intensify efforts in seeking divine intervention for Nigeria in distress.

The prayer which was held simultaneously same day across the 36 states and the FCT was considered as one of the most noble things needed for God’s intervention.

It is obvious that as women, sisters and mothers, NAWOJ cannot afford to be silent in the midst of glooming darkness over our dear country, Nigeria.

More so, with the belief that coming together  with other women groups to pray would bring repentance before God on behalf of the people, the female journalists held the solemn assembly to ask for mercy and healing of our beloved country .

Female journalists who are no longer comfortable with the way and manner events are unfolding in the country, believe that  except they rise and call on the creator of Nigeria and Nigerians to arise and do what only him can do, no one is safe.

Calling on God to do the impossible for our dear nation, participants who adorned themselves in red attire, a colour that signifies bleeding of the land  were all on their knees as a sign of submission to God.

They lifted up their voices in prayer and cried to God to heal Nigeria.

In Rivers State, the solemn assembly with the theme: “O God Heal Our Land” took place at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre
