A cleric at the Ministry of Perfection Church (Restoration Center), Egbelu-Ozodo, Port Harcourt, Pastor I.G. Warmate has admonished Nigerians to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ for solution to the mirage of challenges bedeviling the nation.
Speaking at the burial of late Mrs Sirah Ezeocha in Etekwuru community, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday, Pastor Warmate emphasized the importance of faith in bringing about positive change in the country.
He urged citizens to turn to Jesus for guidance and to work together in addressing social, economic, and political challenges.
Pastor Warmate said the Maker of all beings was explicit when he told humanity that righteousness exalts a nation but that sin is a reproach, stressing that the choice was therefore that of Nigerians to make for the salvation of the country.
The servant of God whose message was captioned “Prepare to meet your God”, with text taken from Eccl 7:2, regretted that many people do not there is God do not understand the meaning of life.
Pointing at the remains of the late Mrs. Ezeocha who lay motionless in state before the crowd, Pastor Warmate pointed out that although endowed with many attributes as attested by mourners, her place in eternity is only known between her and God.
The Man of God also warned against spiritual complacency, noting that every soul would be accountable to God by the way he lived his life.
“If you lived your life with a good start and ended without Christ, you will end up in hell. But if your life had a bad beginning but you embraced Christ in the end, heaven is surely your destination “, he sermonized.
“When you were born, you were crying and everyone was laughing and happy to welcome you. Let it be the other way round that when you die, you will be laughing while people are crying”, said the cleric.
In a moving tribute delivered by the husband of the deceased, Mr. Godpower Ezeocha, he said her radiant spirit and unwavering love illuminated his life with boundless joy and profound meaning, adding that her “gentle touch and compassionate heart were the pillars of our home, nurturing a haven of warmth and understanding”.
The burial ceremony which brought people from far and near, was graced by dignitaries including former Rivers Police Public Relations Officer, Dr. Uche Mike Chukwuma as well as the Publisher of National Network newspapers, Pastor Jerry Needam and his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Promise Jerry Needam.
