Oba Of Ogbaland Mourns Late Wokocha

The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland and former Chairman, Rivers state Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence Sir (Dr.) Chukumela Nnam Obi II (OON, DSSRS, AP, JP) has joined other prominent Nigerians to mourn the demise of former Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Prof. (Chief) Addison Mark Wokocha, JP.

Oba Chukumela Nnam Obi II in a statement described the sudden passage of the erudite scholar as shocking, unbelievable and painful as he was one of the bright sons of Ogba Kingdom, the people were proud because of his services to mankind.

According to the Ogba Monarch, the Late Professor A.M. Wokocha was a peace maker, philanthropist par excellence, community leader, astute administrator, a grassroot mobiliser, humanitarian and indeed a patriot whose death is a great loss not only to the people of Ogba Ethnic Nationality but Nigeria in general.

He noted that the deceased just like his late father, late Bishop Mark Egba Wokocha  contributed immensely to the development, peace, unity and educational upliftment of Ogba, Kingdom and Nigeria at large and pray God to grant his soul eternal rest and give the immediate family the fortitude to bear the great loss. The late Prof. Wokocha died on 6th March, 2019 following a brief illness. He was 71 years old.

In a related development, the Ogba Monarch and grand patron of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) also mourn the sudden death of the late Deputy Editor with the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation Port Harcourt (Publishers of the Tide Newspapers) Chief Fyneface Nduka Aaron.

He noted he was sad when he had the sad news of the death of Chief Fyneface Nduka Aaron’s death who hails from Itu Community in Egi clan, in Ogba/Egebma/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and one of the humble, gentle, hard working and one of the few journalists who have been covering activities of his Palace professionally without looking for brown envelope.

He therefore condoled the bereaved family, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Management and Staff of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Port Harcourt on the sudden demise of the young journalist and pray God to grant his soul eternal rest in his bossom.
