A traditional ruler in Rebisi Kingdom in Port-Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Royal Highness Eze Onumini I of Mgbundukwu Community, Owabie Tobin, has advised immediate past Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe, both of All Progressives Congress of Rivers State, to settle their differences before the 2023 general elections.
Eze Tobin who gave the advice in an interview in Port-Harcourt on Monday said that both Amaechi and Senator Abe should forgive each other and work together for the interest of the party in the state ahead of 2023 elections.
Eze Tobin said: “Amaechi and Abe should forgive each other and work together, but if they don’t forgive each other and work together, this problem will still come up in 2023 and will affect the party”.
He recalled that political differences between Amaechi and Senator Abe made it impossible for members of the party to run in the 2019 elections, as a court had restrained INEC from recognizing any candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Eze Tobin who is paramount ruler of Mgbundukwu Community of Mile One and Two, Diobu, advised the two political chieftains to end their disagreements before the 2023 general elections so that there would not be a repeat of what happened to the party in 2019.
He said that the All Progressives Congress in the state would “collapse” if Amaechi and Abe would not settle their disagreements and work together, saying that they had been friends for “long” and should settle their differences and work together in the interest of the party.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler has appealed to the people of the state not to distract Governor Nyesom Wike as he performs his responsibilities saying that Governor Wike is doing his best for the state and needs to concentrate to carry out his duties.
He commended Governor Wike for offering a hand of fellowship to members of opposition political parties to work with him in the governance of the state.
He, however, appealed that Governor Wike should work with security agencies to bring to an end the insecurity in the state to guarantee the safety of lives and property of people in the state.
