Death Of Undergraduate: Cleric Accuses Family Of Continuous Harassment

The General Overseer of a new generation Church in Port Harcourt, Bishop Sodje Masodje-Mudiaga, who was accused of complicity in the death of a female undergraduate, Miss Beauty Nwigbarane around Rumuji axis of the East-West road in Emohua Local Government Area who was said to have died in a ghastly motor accident has alleged continuous harassment by the family of the deceased victim.

National Network had reported how the victim died last year when travelling from Rivers State to Benin City to spend Christmas with her family.

The clergyman was arrested and detained by the Nigerian Army following his conversation with the late Miss Nwigbarane before her death but was later granted bail by the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID), Rivers State Police Command after investigation by the unit was said to have cleared him of any complicity.

Bishop Mudiaga who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt through his lawyer, David Abuo, alleged that the father of the late female undergraduate has continued to harass him despite the fact that Police investigation exonerated him from any wrongdoing. Bishop Mudiaga also disclosed that the father of the deceased had on several occasions brought in Military to harass him even in the church.

The Bishop regretted that despite sending petitions to the Authorities of the Nigerian Army and Police on the alleged continuous harassment by the family of the female undergraduate, the issue has remained unabated.

Efforts to speak to the father of the late Beauty, Warrant Officer Sorbari Nwigbarane, as at press time proved abortive.

Recall that the family of the deceased alleged that they victim had gone to visit the cleric who they claimed was her lover but the cleric denied the allegation and any complicity in the death of the undergraduate.
