SARS Detains Two Members Of Car Snatching Syndicate Over Shooting

Two men who are said to be members of a notorious armed robbery and car snatching syndicate led by one ‘Skippo’ have been detained in custody of Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at Rupokwu, Port Harcourt over snatching of a green colour Nissan Primera car and shooting of the driver.

Narrating his ordeal on telephone to our reporter, the driver of the vehicle simply identified as Suraju, said the four men saw him around Agip junction, told him to take them on charter to Nsirim road at Chinda in Ada George, Port Harcourt.

Mr Suraju disclosed that on getting to the area, the four men ordered him to alight from the car at gun point.

He said as he came down they shot his hand and he was able to run away. According to the victim, while he was running, the hoodlums fired another shot at him but he narrowly escaped the bullet.

He explained that he ran to Rumupakani Police Divisional headquarters at Ada George where the Police team rushed him to the hospital almost immediately.

He revealed that three days after the incident he was walking along Illabouchi street, Mile 2 Diobu when he saw two of the suspects seated inside the vehicle in front of a compound.

He stated that he drew the attention of Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters, Illabouchi that came and impounded the vehicle and arrested the suspects whom he confirmed recognized as the persons who attacked him.

The suspects were transferred from Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters to SARS where the suspects are undergoing interrogation.

A Police source confirmed the incident while adding that the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigation is concluded.
