Harji Dinner, Show Of Love – Edet Edem

It was a unique and colourful day to remember as Eckankar marks their 2019 Harji Dinner which came under the theme “Spiritual Keys To A Happier Life”.

Engr. Edet Edem, the guest speaker at the event said the Dinner held was an opportunity for people to share in the love of their spiritual leader, Sr, Harold Klemp, The Manhanta, also known as the living Eck Master.

He said it was one of the most important events in Eckankar, where the members Eckankar invite their love ones to join them rejoice over a meal that could boost their spiritual lives.

Talking on this year’s theme, Engr. Edem said that God is love, therefore people needed love and humility to be alive in the spiritual realm. He noted that anyone who gives love to another fellow actually lives in godliness, while urging other religions to practice what they preach and not just preaching. “If love is preached and practice, the world will be a better place for everyone. Let me remind you that even plants and animals do share love,” he said.

He said Eckankar is not of the Christian family rather a different religion but is of the idea that every other religion is of God. Adding that in Eckankar they believe in recarnation and the law of karma which had been built over life times. Although a lot of people disagreed with the fact that they had lived before.

His words: “It is we human beings that gave God names to colonize God but in reality God is one. It is the way you see God, the way you appreciate God that matters, but if there is anyone that truly know God, he will know that His true name is love”.

Also speaking, Eckaclergy Elder Kinika Mpi, says the dinner is an annual event and that it is a dinner that connotes a kind of having a communion with their master, the Mahanta the living Eck Master, who is their spiritual guide, their outer and inner master saying the spiritual benefits cannot be quantify.

He said it is important for people to understand the spiritual laws of life so as to live more happier life. Therefore, the Harji dinner creates an avenue for non Ecks to benefit from their teachings in life.
