PDP Presidential Primary: Rivers PDP Chairman, Bro Obuah Lauds Gov Wike Over Successful National Convention In PH
The chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has described the just concluded Presidential Primary of the party, held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital over the weekend, for the 2019 general elections as the best in the annals of Nigeria’s political history.
Bro Obuah who attributed the historic success to the ingenuity of Gov Nyesom Wike as the chief host of the Special National Convention said the convention is historic for several reasons.
According to the State PDP boss, the large turn-out and peaceful conduct of the keenly contested presidential primary is a political statement that the PDP is truly democratic and places very high premium on democratic principles of fairness, credible and transparent elections as the panacea for political bitterness and rancor.
Bro Obuah said the successful Presidential Primary has further proved that effective and resourceful democratic leadership in Nigeria is still possible under a determined political party with a vision like the PDP which he noted has systematically and meticulously taken time to purge its membership of bad eggs who now flood the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The State PDP chairman, while congratulating the PDP Presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar for his well deserved victory, also commended all the other aspirants for exhibiting an enviable spirit of sportsmanship throughout the election period.
With the caliber of the party’s presidential candidate and support of the indefatigable aspirants and other party chieftains, the PDP is now poised to end politics of impunity, intimidation and liquidation of dissent voices in Nigeria which the APC-led federal government represents, Bro Obuah declared.
He further observed that for an event of this magnitude that brought hundreds of thousands of Nigerians from all the different parts of the country to Rivers State without a single ugly incident recorded, is a self testimony of a peaceful and secure State, and most importantly, an indisputable evidence of the hospitality of Rivers people to their guests and visitors.
Bro Obuah noted that having seen it for themselves, investors are expected to cash in on the prevailing peace to invest in the State, stressing that Rivers State, despite the lies being peddled by political detractors and enemies of progress, still remains an investors’ haven and a business destination second to none in Nigeria.
He enjoined Nigerians not to lose hope but to queue behind the PDP in the 2019 general elections to get the country back on track and walking again.
