The people of Umuoke Community in Ikwerrengwo, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State have unanimously relieved Mr. Clifford George Amadi of his position as the youth chairman of Umuoke Youth Association.
In a statement issued and signed by Sixty Five members of the Umuoke Youth Association, after their meeting on the 25th of June, 2019 at the community accused Mr. Clifford George Amadi for not calling for meeting, and not forming Exco after his appointment, that barely two months after Mr. Amadi’s appointment, he joined forces with land grabbers, which is against the mission of his position by re-selling the land owned by Pastor Emmanuel Ekedebe (Meadow Nigeria Limited) and P-Mark Nweria Limited and as well as suing the entire Umuoke community including the paramount ruler who issued him the certificate of recognition of Umuoke youth chairman to court, pointing out that in paragraph four(4) of his affidavit in his suit No. ECC/40/2019 in Egwi Cutomary Court against Umuoke.
He was also alleged to have claimed the ownership of the community land and it was based on the above mentioned grounds, they called on the Royal Highness, Eze Hon. Felix Nweke Onyeche (JP) to withdraw his certificate of recognition with immediate effect.
In the same vein, when our reporter contacted Eze Felix Onyeche on the issue, he told him that he acted, on the letter from the youths after thorough investigations and series of invitation letters to the alleged youth leader which he turned down including meetings by the community, adding that with the supports of the community prompted him to sack the youth chairman, Mr. Amadi Clifford George in order to make peace.
He further disclosed that a four (4) man interim-committee has been formed with Mr. Okechi Friday-(Ozoruga family), Mr. Chidi Iheanyi Onyeche (Umuremem family), Mr. henry Onyeche (Umuoghgume family) and Mr. Chisom Lawrence Amadi (Umuntada family) where the embattled youth chairman comes from, stressing that they have also written to security agencies warning him to stop parading himself, calling on anybody doing any business with the said Amadi to stop doing so.
Eze Felix stated that restoration of peace and unity in Umuoke was what every community is fighting for and this made him to seek Mr. Amadi Clifford because without peace, there will not be development.
Meanwhile, when our reporter contacted Mr. Amadi Clifford George on the allegations leveled against him and issues concerning his sack, he denied before his factional youth members describing such allegations as a blackmail by the paramount ruler, Eze Felix Nweke and his cohorts.
He denied being a land grabber but a “land discoverer” who is fighting a just course for good of both the youths and the entire community.
