Rt Hon Dum Dekor Hails Peaceful Conduct

…Congratulates Successful PDP Candidates For Khana, Gokana, Others

“Nothing is denied to well-directed labour; nothing is ever to be attained without it”.

These were the words of Rt. Hon Dumnemene Robinson Dekor, the federal lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly in his spontaneous reaction to the landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded April 17, Local Government Elections in Rivers State.

Rt. Hon Dekor particularly congratulated the two victorious Council Chairmanship Candidates of the PDP for Khana and Gokana Local Government Areas, Dr. Bariere Thomas and Hon Deko Confidence respectively, and their councillors, describing their victory as well- deserved and historic.

According to the federal lawmaker, the tougher the battle, the sweeter the victory, recalling the long journey of wresting the reins of power from the former administration in the state by the PDP which he noted was no mean achievement.

He gave all the credit to the tate governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike whom he described as a visionary leader that knows when to strike and rightly too.

The Ogoni-born politician, and a former Commissioner of works as well as former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly said Governor Wike deserves all the gratitude for not only showing rare bravery in his fight for the enthronement of democracy in the state but also seeing to it, that there is equity and fair-play in the distribution of resources and due representation of wards, constituencies and districts that make up the state at all levels of government.

“We cannot thank His Excellency enough but to join hands to pray for him and support his New Rivers Vision for the future of our children,” Rt. Hon Dekor declared.
