.... Empowers 250 Persons On Skills Acquisition
The lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency, Hon. Ogundu K. Chinda has faulted the once trended statement credited to President Buhari that Nigerian youths are lazy.
He dropped the hint during his one month skill acquisition programme that had 250 persons both indigenes and non indigenes of Elelenwo town (Ward 5) trained in various skills.
He lauded the participants for devoting their time to learn the various skills which include Tailoring, Ankara design/making, Hat making, Hair dressing, Wig making, Allied products and Cosmetology, Interior and exterior decoration, Hair barbing, Catering services, Make up artistry, Handset repairs, Bead making and Leather foot wears.
“You have the zeal to learn not only you but all our youths both those in diaspora are serious and hardworking people. What the zeal I have seen in this programme connotes is that Nigerian youths are not Lazy at all but rather they lack the opportunities and right environment”, he noted.
Rep. Ogundu Chinda further urged the students to utilize the opportunity judiciously and also take steps to teach others so that those around them will benefit from their knowledge and advised them not to be discouraged by the fact that times are hard.
"When something good is to take place that is when you begin to face more challenges don't be discouraged continue by tough times cos tough times dont last but tough peope do. Continue to pray to God, continue to dream and to work towards your dreams, be consistent and persistent in everything you do in life and you will surely get success, further advised.
He commended the organizers, Switz Creations for their time and efforts in the exercise and promised to continue the skills acquisition programme in the remaining 16 wards of Obio/Akpor with more skills added.
The Paramount Ruler of Elelenwo Etor, His Royal Majesty Eze Amb. Sunny Weli Chukwu JP, thanked Rep O. K. Chinda for initiating and sponsoring such a wonderful programme for the people and urged the participants to be steadfast in their various skills.
