In a remarkable display of compassion and generosity, the Lead Pastor of Gateway International Church (GIC), Port Harcourt, Pastor George Izunwa has stepped forward to provide financial succor to stranded students of the Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.

This rare act of kindness came to the fore penultimate Monday as Izunwa, through the George Izunwa Foundation (GIF) funded tuition fees for over 10 students of RSU, bringing hope and relief to many deserving individuals facing significant challenges.

RSU, renowned for its academic excellence, has been grappling with a growing number of students unable to pay their tuition fees due to various financial constraints. As the burden increased, so did the concern for the affected students’ future and education.

However, Pastor George Izunwa, renowned for his philanthropy and advocacy for education, has through the Foundation taken it upon himself to address this pressing issue. With a deep understanding of the importance of education in transforming lives, he has graciously decided to fund the tuition fees of the stranded RSU students, enabling them to continue their studies without the fear of financial obstacles.

The impact of GIF’s interventions cannot be overstated, as the Foundation is said to be warming up to provide free healthcare services to people of Bakana Community in Degema Local Government Area of the state from 14th to 16th June, 2023.

National Network reporter, who was present during the Third Service at the church’s headquarters on Sunday, said the pastor humbly expressed the importance of education and the motivation behind funding the tuition fees for the stranded RSU students, emphasizing the significance of education in empowering individuals and building a better future for society as a whole.
