ASALGA 13 Empowers, Mobilizes Natives For Wike

In a bid to give back to the society, a group known as ASALGA 13 for Wike has empowered over 100 persons in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The event, which took place at the King Amachree Square on Sunday, November 4, 2018, will remain evergreen in the minds of the people as the first ever massive empowerment scheme in the history of ASLAGA.

In his speech, Hon. Daibi Amachree, fondly called Apex chairman, described the event as the rebirth of purposive and quality empowerment in the area; a day to also consider those who have been abandoned, neglected and schemed out of the several empowerment efforts and undertakings of the government and political dividends over the years, adding that the group has rekindled political life in the area for the past three months.

According to him, ASALGA 13 For Wike is geared towards the successful re-election of the performing Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in 2019 and to ensure the much needed victory of all the PDP candidates, noting that the group is very optimistic that it is already a done deal as they would leave no stone unturned on their path to victory.

Hon Amachree stated that the empowerment scheme would be in phases, and that this first phase was packaged to the lucky five traders in each of the 13 wards in the LGA, as well as the non-indignes who reside and do business in ASALGA, except for Ward 1, 3, 11 and 13, that received unprecedented increase from the Vision bearer.

Addressing the people, Hon. Amachree said that the programme would be held in every three months to alleviate the sufferings of the people and urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of what has been given to them as their own benefits but sounded very clear that the money was not meant for debt payment, cloths or burial ceremonies rather for the growth of their various businesses.

He used the medium to thank Hon. Onengiyeofori George, on whose burner ASALGA 13 for Wike is born and nurtured.

The Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Okechukwu Chinda, who was represented by Hon. Budu Amadi, expressed delight that Hon. George was able to empower men, women, youths as well as non-indigenes drawn from the 13 political wards in the LGA, saying it is very rare for someone who is not vying for or holding any political position to have done such a thing and prayed God to reward all his endeavours, adding that, Hon. George has left a landmark in the community for people to emulate.

Hon. Onengiyeofori George, in his respond, expressed his joy over the commendation given him by the community, stakeholders and beneficiaries, saying he was happy seeing that the people were appreciative.

Presenting the cash to the beneficiaries, he urged them to utilize it properly to better their lives and people around them.

One of the beneficiaries, who spoke to our reporter, Hon. Alaselaa George said receiving such amount of money at this current economic situation in the country, was the best thing that has happened to them. He thanked Hon. George and prayed God to enrich him in all his efforts in life.
