Oba Of Ogbaland Mourns Late Chief I. A.  Sampson, Simeon Nwakaudu

…Condoles With Bereaved Families, Gov. Wike, NUJ

The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland and grand patron of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), His Eminence Sir (Dr) Chukumela Nnam Obi II, OON, DSSRS, AP, JP has described the death of the Managing Editor of Beacon Newspaper, Chief I. A. Sampsons as painful, unfortunate and a big loss not only to the pen profession but to the entire people of Rivers State.

In a statement by his media Aide, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, the Eze Ogba who was shocked and dumb founded on hearing the sad news, described the late Chief I.A Sampson who hails from Abua/Odual LGA of Rivers State as a humble, unassuming, upright and God-fearing gentleman who played his card very well while alive.

The Ogba Monarch, a former Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers recalled the positive roles the deceased played when he was a councillor in the old Ahoada Local Government Area of Rivers State and his hard work and sincerity as a Managing Editor of Beacon Newspaper since the Founder/Publisher of the newspaper, Elder Minere Amakiri died in  2011.

Oba Chukumela Nnam Obi II therefore commiserated with the bereaved Family, the people of the Orashi region, the management and staff of Beacon Newspaper, members of the pen profession and the entire good people of Rivers State over the death of Chief I.A Sampson, a man the royal father further noted, dedicated all his time on earth to serving God and working for the good of others.

He prayed Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest and comfort the family he left behind.

The Eze Ogba also condole with the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike over the death of his SSA on Electronic media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu describing the deceased as a dependable ally, hard work and professional media man whose death is a great loss to the Governor, Colleagues and the people he left behind.

 The NUJ grand patron pray God to grant him (Simeon Nwakaudu) soul peaceful rest and as well give Governor Wike, the bereaved Family, Journalists and Nigerians the fortitude to bear the great loss.
