Dumo Advocates For Renovation Of GCSC Borokiri

A philanthropist and one time governorship candidate in Rivers State, High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has advocated for renovation of secondary education in the state by those who have benefited.

Chief Lulu-Briggs dropped the hint on the sidelines of a media interview with journalists during the end of year activities of GCSC, Borikiri and book launch of the Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borokiri, Port Harcourt Old Boys over the weekend.

The soft spoken Kalabari High Chief explained that renovation of secondary schools in the State should not be left in hands of government alone. He argued that Old Boys who have benefited and passed from their almamater and are doing well should support government and put the schools in proper perspective especially  Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borokiri in Port Harcourt.

The Philanthropist  enjoined  those who God has blessed to give back to  society by supporting their former schools through renovation and other social support, noting that even when the state government has planned to renovate the school, it is still very imperative for Old Boys to support the Governor. He noted that the school has produced notable professors, doctors and lawyers, including a former President, Nigerian Bar Association, O.C.J. Okocha, among others.

He explained that of award given to some persons was in recognition of their contributions. He maintained that society should not leave everything for  government alone, while thanking God for being part of the historic event.

Highlight of the event was cultural display by junior students of the college and book launch to mark the end of year activities of the school.
