At 50, Pastor Dagogo Declares: ‘So Far, So Good With God’

The Resident Pastor of El-Shaddai Ministries International (Inc.), Bundu Church, Port Harcourt, Pastor Dagogo Ogan has expressed delight that his fifty years of existence on earth has been a worthy and rewarding experience, through the amazing grace of God.

Ogan who spoke to National Network as he turned 50 on Wednesday, said that reflecting on God’s goodness in his life is something he savours.

“The greatest thing that has happened to me in my fifty years on earth is to have Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal saviour.

“And I’m profoundly grateful to God for making me see my fiftieth birthday. When I remember so many friends, relatives and colleagues whom we all started this race that are no more, I want to do more to appreciate God’s mercies”, he said, as his eyes lit up cheerfully.

The soft speaking, youthful cleric affirmed he has no regrets so far as he marks his golden jubilee.

His words: “God’s been awesome, gifting me with good health, strong physique and a great spirit to do his work and that’s what matters to me”.

When are his happiest moments?

“I’m happy each time I return home to the warm embrace of my lovely wife, Numo Dagogo Ogan and precious children, Donovan and Derrick. They are the best gifts God has given to me”, he enthused.

He went on: “I’m very excited when I’m ministering God’s message of salvation to the youths especially in Bundu where I pastor. I’m talking about youths that are deep in alcoholism, drugs, cultism and all manner of vices.

“I’m happiest when they are convicted by the Holy Spirit and they surrender their lives to Jesus. I’m wowed when they get baptized and grow in faith and begin to minister to their friends and relatives. That’s what God can do and I give Him all the glory”.

Pastor Ogan expressed happiness that God had been using him to perform diverse miracles in his church.  He said: “Healing is one of the areas God has been using me to do his work. He says I can do all things according to the power that lives in me.  As I continue to serve him, I know that he will expand my coast to do greater and greater miracles”.

As human, has there been a day he considered saddest?

“Well, to the glory of God the saddest day in my life occurred nine years ago when I lost my beloved younger brother, Opubo Ogan in a ghastly motor accident. We were like Siamese twins and really loved ourselves. Now I know that the reason God kept me from dying from the thought of him was so I would live to do his work”, he said.

The servant of God, an employee of the Rivers State judiciary, said he owed his rapid spiritual growth to God Almighty who gives him the enablement to study his word every day.

“Secondly, my profound gratitude goes to my spiritual father, Arch-Bishop Ugon-Owaji Elkanah Hanson and Bishop Tubman Fiabiama”, he said, adding that both personalities are his role models who has imparted so much in him as well as impacted his life positively.

As he steps into the next phase of his life, Pastor Ogan urged the youths to restrain themselves from social vices as that is contrary to God’s divine purpose for their lives.

“Pursue the word of God that guarantees light.  You need the light of God to live in this dark world.  Cultism, drugs, alcoholism, kidnapping, prostitution and other evils would not do you any good.  They will destroy your future and you will end in poverty and regrets”, he warned, adding that he is not just a pastor to Bundu residents but a pastor to the whole world.
