…As Baby Ejiri Goes To Church
Christians have been admonished to always cultivate the habit of returning gratitude to God in whatever condition they may find themselves.
The Vicar of the New Jerusalem Anglican Church, Oyigbo, Ven. Timothy C. Alozie stated this over the weekend when Hon. & Mrs. Ugochukwu Ejiri dedicated their beautiful newborn baby, Miss Divine Chinwe Ugo Ejiri to God.
The man of God made it known to the congregation in his sermon delivery that nobody has it complete but that the Word of God stated clearly that there shall be no bareness in the land.
According to him, “bareness is not only in the fruit of the womb but in many other areas including financially, materially, morally, academically etc.
Rev. Alozie stated further that whichever area one finds him/her own bareness, it is only through prayers, supplication and thanksgiving to God that one would overcome the challenges.
He further stated that children are the inheritance of God and comes at God's own time, quoting from the holy book that “it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy”.
The man of God later led a powerful prayer session, urging the congregation to concentrate on their individual areas of bareness and pray out themselves.
The celebrant and former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Oyigbo local government area, Hon Ejiri said he was over joy for God's faithfulness to his family.
“God turned around my sadness to joy because I nearly lost both mother and child in the process but for God's intervention, hence my elaborate celebration”.
He made it clear that God is indeed the hope of the believers. He used the opportunity to advise those who are yet to make up their minds to draw nearer to God. “There is no challenges of life that He does not have an answer if one earnestly seek Him”, he declared.
Mrs. Ijeoma Ugochukwu Ejiri, his wife also thanked God for his mercy from the conception of the pregnancy to the safe delivery, adding that “truly God is faithful to the Ejiri family and deserve all our thanksgiving.
She equally used the opportunity to appreciate the PDP Ward 7 women who she noted, stood by her in prayers and unflinching support at all times”. The former first lady prayed for the same celebration to go round all of them.
The Oyigbo first family led by the council boss, Hon Prince Gerald Oforji, her mother and former first lady of the council, lady Blessing Oforji and former Special Adviser to governor Wike, Hon. John Nwachukwu and family were among the PDP supporters who graced the event. They all prayed for the best wishes for the Ejiri family.
