Group Honours Ndamati For Excellent Service To Humanity

The Director of the Secondary Schools Department at the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, Port Harcourt, Mrs. Blessing Ngozi Ndamati has been honoured with an award of excellence for humanitarian services to society.

The Joint Assembly of Rivers State Youths, a non-governmental organization (NGO), which bestowed the award on Mrs. Ndamati at her office in Port Harcourt on Friday, said she was honoured for demonstrating proficiency, dedication and excellence in discharge of her job and service to humanity.

Presenting her with the award plaque, the President of the Joint Assembly of Rivers Youths, Comrade Gashion Bob Achor commended the Director for positively impacting humanity through diligence and consistency.

“When it comes to her job, she does not have any boundary.  She sees humanity as one.  She is a strong advocate of the girl child education as well as education for the youths”, Achor said.

In her response, an elated Mrs. Ndamati praised the group for finding her worthy of the award, and urged the youths to imbibe the spirit of industry and shun laziness and activities that are inimical to development.

She reminded the group that Rivers State is highly blessed with enormous human and material resources, adding that properly harnessed, will “make us a better people than what we are”.

Mrs. Ndamati advocated for moral decency among the girl child while calling on parents to take the education of children, especially the girl child seriously.

The Schools Board Director also lauded the developmental strides of Governor Nyesom Wike on his strides in the educational sector, even as she praised the Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Education Board, Venerable FynefaceAkah for his administrative competence and the conducive environment for learning.

Other members of the Joint Assembly of Rivers Youths present at the event were Secretary, Mr. Ken Thankgod and Mr. Isaiah Kondu.
