…Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish – Ogbonna Nwuke
The All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State has expressed regret over the decamping of a statutory member of the State Executive Committee of the party, former Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Director General of the 2019 Governorship Campaign Council of the APC in Rivers State, Hon. Dr. Chidi Lloyd to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In a statement signed by the Acting Chairman of APC, Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Igo Aguma, Monday in Port Harcourt, the APC appealed to its members in the state “forming different groups and factions to sheathe their sword and come to the table so we can resolve the burning deputations for us to move the party forward”.
The leadership of the APC enjoined party faithful to maintain calm and remain resolute, just as “we are working assiduously hard to ensure peace and reconciliation among aggrieved members and groups to avoid any further depletion from the party because there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Meanwhile, a statement credited to the spokesman of APC in Rivers State, Ogbonna Nwuke, has described the exit of Hon. Chidi Lloyd as “Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish”.
A statement by Hon. Nwuke, a former member of the House of Representatives said Lloyd’s departure “has not come as a huge surprise.”
He noted that it was regrettable that the Akpabu born politician has taken a decision to stray away from the light in order to embrace darkness.
The APC spokesman said: “For us, the former member of the House of Assembly who apologized for decisions and actions that he took without compulsion from any quarter, has shown his true colours. His apology to the master of the “belly kingdom revolution” raises serious questions about his credibility and integrity”.
He assured that the exit of Hon Lloyd would have no effects on the fortune of the APC, adding that “on the contrary, APC members in Emohua Local Government Area are jubilating over his exit.”
