The official visit of the National Network Newspaper Editorial Team to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rivers State Chapter, Monday September 23, 2019 as part of awareness for its 15th anniversary celebration has been described as divine and in recognition of its excellent leadership led by the Most Special Apostle (Dr) Stanley Dimkpa.

The General Overseer of “Made-By-Grace International Christian Chapel” aka Heavenly Gate Ministries, Port Harcourt, Pastor Patrick Amadi stated this in a chat with newsmen shortly afterwards.

He said that the CAN Chairman, Dr. Dimkpa was indeed God’s sent and has come to stabilize the organization as a cool headed, peaceful and calculated gentleman.

The man of God made it clear that there was no crisis in the CAN Executives except for one or two persons who were pursing personal agenda.

He used the opportunity to call on everyone to rally round and support the CAN leadership in the state to achieve set goal, adding that the visit shows solidarity to the current executive.

“The visit shows solidarity to CAN Rivers State leadership. It means that people have been observing our activities and the progress we are making in the body of Christ despite propaganda among few individuals to curry favour”, said Pastor Amadi.

Pastor Amadi who is of the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN/PFN) block of the five families of CAN urged Christians to unite, exhibitfear God and keep the Lord’s commandments as instructed by God Himself.

God said that “If you love me keep my commandment and work in one accord,” he quote.

He used the chance to disclose further the relationship between the Christians and Muslims Community in the state ais very cordial despite the attempt by some politicians to do otherwise, adding that the alleged demolition of a mosque in Port Harcourt was not true but politically motivated, expressing happiness for the understanding of religious leaders.

Pastor Amadi, a renown politician of the second Republic further disclosed that politics had been bastardised by those he called “new breed politicians”, which he said actually forced him out of the game.

He said politics as he knew it was a system to ride into power and improve the welfare of the people through electioneering campaign with its inherent tricks to outsmart each other to achieve objectives.

“There was no time violence, killings or corruption were made part of politics,” he noted.

He however urged the Orientation Agencies to step up their activities and enlighten the populace against all the negative vices in the society, adding that with time people would change for the better. He expressed hope in the unity of Nigeria.

The G. O. used the opportunity to again appeal to churches to unite and work in collaboration with the Rivers State government through CAN, its umbrella body for the maintenance of a cordial relationship for their mutual benefits.

“We should be loyal, obedient, pray and support those in authority to get what is due us”, he cautioned.

While commending Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike over his developmental strides especially in road rehabilitation and infrastructure, Pastor Amadi appealed to him to give the derailed youths a second chance of amnesty by camping them according to their local government areas for rehabilitation purposes.

“They could be trained and settled through skill acquisition as well as scholarship scheme for those interested in further studies because I am of the belief that poverty led them into the social vices they found themselves”.

The man of God also advised that something tangible should be done to stem the tide of brain drain in the country which he noted, could adversely affect the nation in future especially as it affects medical doctors and engineers in particular, advising further that those with bias in psychology, neurology, humanity, anatomy and physiology be encouraged to teach in the nation’s universities.
