Injustice, Insecurity, Causes Of Agitations PDP – Nwobike

One of the Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Chief Dr. Goodluck Nwobike has identified injustice and insecurity that pervade the country as the major causes of agitations in various parts of the country.

He stated this in Port Harcourt over the weekend in a chat with newsmen. According to him “the insecurity all over the nations, coupled with the lackadaisical attitude of the APC-led Federal Govt is responsible for the agitations all over the country.” 

On the recently passed Petroleum Industrial Bill (PIB) Sir Nwobike said that if the FG led by President Muhammadu Buhari was sincere in handling the affairs of the Country, he would have considered the appeal of the Niger Delta region before signing the bill into law.

The KELGA PDP Stakeholders however advised that the region should manage the 3% provision in the Act until such a Time a true National leader will emerge on the throne to correct all the anormallies being perpetuated by this administration.

On the recent appeal court judgement over the FIRS VAT collection, Nwobike described it as a welcome development, adding that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was consistent in the advocacy and protection of the Rivers State interest.

On the threat of lockdown over the reemergence of Covid 19 announced by the Governor recently, Nwobike while Noting the Governor’s concern for his people, appealed to him to consider other options to check the Pandemic as the residence are still groaning over their last experience where hunger and starvation was the major threat.

On the reported conflicting judgments from the court of same Jurisdiction, he used the opportunity to urge the CJN to rise up to the occasion as according to him, “the Judiciary played important role in the emergence and sustainance of the nascent democracy”.
