In line with the mission to empower women and develop women enterpreneurs in the state, Rivers State Government has trained over 300 women in the state on different skills.
The training which is being conducted by ImpactHER, a non-governmental and non-profit making organization is meant to raise women enterpreneurs who can compete favourably with men and also sell internationally..
The Chief Executive Officer and founder of ImpactHER, Efe Ukala told National Network that the organization was founded to bridge the gender business-financing gap and help African women enterpreneurs realize their full economic potentials.
She disclosed that ImpactHER was formed with the intention of helping to eradicate poverty among African Women Enterpreneurs pointing out that the participants for the training were randomly selected from the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.
She also hinted that her organization equips African Women Enterprenures with the tools needed to build scalable businesses and access institutional capital and expressed hope that the training will offer to the participants the opportunity to attend Webinars tailored towards addressing critical aspects of business needs.
The founder of ImpactHER thanked Rivers State Government for magnanimously sponsoring the training adding that her organization has impacted over 4000 women across 34 African countries and is connected to 55 countries globally despite the fact that it is self funded.
On his part, one of the resource persons and founder of Geestouch Organic Skincare, Mr Gelead Akalaha, stated that he agreed to train the women on organic skin care products because he wanted to help ImpactHER realise her vision.
while urging all the participants to take advantage of the training, he advised them to put into good use every thing they were taught.
In their separate speeches, the trainees, Mrs Nebo Chioma and Mrs Martha Chindah thanked ImpactHER and Rivers State Government for empowering them and promised to be better enterpreneurs.
