Abua Monarch Cautions Traditional Rulers Against Bias

…As Council Of Chiefs Admit Prof. AkariOtu-OsuInto Fold

The Oda Abuan, HM, King Kaleh O.M. Obuge (JP), has admonished traditional rulers in Abua/Odual Local Government Area to be forthright in dealing with their subjects and avoid bias.

Speaking at the occasion of presentation of the paramount ruler of Emago-Kugbo Community, Chief (Prof) Akari Adukuwas Otu-Osu, for admission into Abua/Odual Council of Traditional Rulers, Chiefs and Elders at his palace in Otari on Saturday, the monarch urged traditional rulers to ensure that their subjects are carried along in all the affairs of the communities.

The Oda Abuan, while applauding them for their efforts in instilling peace and unity in Abua and Odual, further charged them to be neutral in all issues of contentions, even as he enjoined the youths to support the efforts of the royal fathers in maintaining peace and tranquility in the kingdom.

King Obuge who extolled the sterling qualities of Chief (Prof) Otu-Osu, described the paramount rulers as a man of immense wisdom and called on the people of Emago-Kugbo to give him the needed support to succeed.

The OdaAbuan said the Council is pleased to have him as member, and expressed confidence that his membership would bring quality input to the affairs of the Council.

Responding, the paramount ruler of Emago-Kugbo, Chief (Prof) Akari Aduku Otu-Osu promised to comply with all the provisions as contained in the Council’s constitution, beginning with his registration as a member.

He also promised not only to carry his subjects along but to demonstrate equity, justice and fairness.

Also speaking, the Councilor representing Ward 11 in ABOLGA, Hon. Eustace Samuel thanked the OdaAbuan and his cabinet for accepting and admitting Chief (Prof) AkariAdukuwasOtu-Osu into the traditional rulers’ council, even as he commended the dignitaries who graced the august event.
