Why Dumo Lulu-Briggs Is Not Campaigning – Rivers PDP

With the 2019 General Elections just 72 hours away, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has accused the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs of shying away from campaigns because he has nothing meaningful to offer Rivers people.

The PDP in a statement by State Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, said that the Accord Party Guber candidate’s apparent reclusiveness stems from the latest warnings from security agencies to deal decisively with those who forment trouble in the State during the General Elections.

While commending the security agencies for the heartwarming assurances to enforce law and order during the polls, Bro. Obuah described the development as ‘bad market’ for Dumo Lulu-Briggs who may be hoping on cashing in on disorderliness to achieve his desires.

He wondered why the Accord Party governorship candidate is yet to hold any rally in any of the 23 Local Government Areas of the State with the General Elections only three days to go.

Bro. Obuah also commended security agencies for promising to give all parties participating in the elections a level playing ground, noting that what every serious minded guber candidate should be doing is to reach out to Rivers people to present their party manifestoes.

The State PDP Chairman said unlike Governor Nyesom Wike who has embarked on Statewide rallies to showcase the tremendous achievements of his administration as justification for his re-election, the Accord Party guber candidate has withdrawn to the shells as he has nothing to tell the electorate.

“The popular saying that you cannot give what you don’t have explains the reason Dumo Lulu-Briggs is not campaigning. He is disappointed that security agencies which he thought would have compromised their position have rather turned around to issue the “Riot Act”, Bro. Obuah declared.
