Pipeline Rumuokwurusi Come Alive Again With Brand New Transformer

A section of pipeline area of Rumuokwurusi, Rivers State particularly referred to as Roads 6, 7, Benjamin and Ogene Streets came alive over the weekend when the residents gathered to thank God and toast to a new beginning occasioned by a brand new transformer donated to them by Chief S. O. Benjamin, a prominent resident of the area.

The area had been in darkness since February this year when their old transformer got bad. Saddened by the development and further demoralized by the way and manner the damaged transformer which was self-procured was managed by the Electricity Committee that was assigned the security and maintenance of the project, the different roads and streets decided to go their individual ways towards procuring a new one.

But due to the current economic meltdown, the individual contributions were slow to meet up the challenge of procuring a high capacity transformer hence the intervention of Chief Benjamin, a philanthropist.

After a successful installation and official handover Saturday, October 5, the residents gathered at the installation point to thank God and to express their appreciation to their good neighbour for his kind gesture.

This was enthusiastically followed by wide celebration spiced up with free-for-all drinking amid glowing electric bulbs to put behind the eight months of sorrowful darkness.
