Hon. Goodhead Clinches House of Reps Ticket

The member representing Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Boma Goodhead, has been declared winner in the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries.

Hon. Goodhead, who contested for the Federal House of Representatives party primary, was declared winner by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Fayeofori London. While giving the breakdown of the result, Prof. London praised the delegates for conducting themselves peacefully during the exercise.

Hon. Goodhead in her speech, expressed appreciation to the delegates for choosing her and assured the people that she is irrevocably committed to the development of her party, the people of her immediate constituency and beyond, and will do everything legitimate to improve their lots.

According to her, the peaceful and rancor-free election of the State is a clear proof that the party is united and poised to still control power in the State come 2019.

She pledged to pursue legislations which will have positive impact on the lives of the people and also solicited the support of party members and all to ensure the success of the party in the general elections.

Alabo Tubotamuno Dick congratulated Hon. Goodhead for emerging victorious in the primaries, describing her victory as well deserved.

He described Goodhead as a role model, a woman who could stand up to speak against the oppression, abnormalities going on in the institutions of government, adding that Rivers State needs people of her kind at the National Assembly to be able to discuss issues of Rivers interest on the floor of the Red chamber.

According to him, representation is all about giving the people voice and not just the execution of constituency projects alone, but the ability to fight for the rights of the people, to champion the people’s cause. He, therefore, urged the people to cast their votes for Hon. Goodhead in the forthcoming general elections, saying it will be a disappointment to the nation, if the people of Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru would not return Hon. Goodhead for a second tenure to serve her people.
