Newly elected President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, Agriculture and Technology (PHCCIMA), Eze (Sir) Mike Elechi, has promised an all-inclusive government that would usher peace, unity, acceleration and open new frontiers of business opportunities for member companies.
Addressing journalists at his office in Port Harcourt after he emerged the new PHCCIMA boss on Tuesday, Elechi said he would transform the organized private sector and revive some moribund companies in Rivers State.
“As the mouthpiece of the organized private sector, PHCCIMA will continue to pursue her objective and ensure that businesses thrive, facilitate ease of doing businesses, engage all levels of government and her agencies in advocacy for effective and fair economic policies”, he said.
The PHCCIMA helmsman said he would evolve a mentorship plan and the development of large, medium and small scale enterprise, to stimulate the local economy as well as attract direct foreign investment to the state.
Until his new position, Elechi was the first Deputy President of PHCCIMA, and also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Vintage Group of Companies, a conglomerate comprising Vintage Farms and Products Limited, Vintage Resorts and Recreations, Veteran and Vintage Tech Limited, Cedar Construction Limited and Vintage Water limited.
A commercial farmer and Agriculturist, he is also the former Chairman NACCIMA Agric Trade Group, Former Chairman NACCIMA Building & Construction Trade Group, Chairman PHCCIMA 2019 Trade Fair Committee, Exco Supervisor For PHCCIMA Agric& Agro-Allied Trade Group among others.
Elechi was a career civil servant that rose to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Rivers State Ministry of Works and Ministry of Sports and was Commissioner I in the Rivers State Civil Service Commission.
Eze (Sir) Mike Elechi is a recipient of the Nigeria Government’s National Productivity award (NPoM), in recognition of his company’s valuable contributions to the growth of the nation’s gross domestic products (GDP). He is also a traditional ruler in Elele, Rivers State where he holds the traditional title of ObuaWeze III Ovua Elele.
