…Arrest Two Suspects

The Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt in its continuous efforts to rid the area of criminals and crime last week Thursday busted a  car snatching syndicate in an operation led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station.

We gathered that following weeks of discrete investigation on the activities of the group, the DPO and his officers acting on credible intelligence and surveillance arrested two suspects, Alex and Johnson who drove on light Green colour Toyota  Previa with Registration number  PBT 451SL Rivers.

Our source revealed that the car was snatched from a woman (name withheld) in one of the numerous operations of the notorious criminal gang in Port Harcourt.

Sources revealed that Johnson allegedly bought the car from the gang at the rate of N250,000 and he took the vehicle to automobile mechanic who reportedly help  in changing colour of vehicles any time the gang succeeds in snatching cars.

As at press time sources disclosed that the owner of the vehicle has identified the car and investigation is ongoing to arrest fleeing members of the criminal gang. It would be recalled that last month, in a sting operation, the DPO of Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters smashed an armed robbery gang and recovered 6 locally made pistols, two double barrel guns, assorted laptops and handsets from the hideout of the hoodlums.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text message sent to his mobile line by our reporter .However, several Police sources confirmed the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the vehicle in question.
