Hon. Sokari Urges Delegates Not To Loose Focus

A Rivers State House of Assembly hopeful for Ahoada West State Constituency, Hon Sokari Goodboy Sokari, has appealed to delegates in the primary elections not to loose focus but vote their conscience.

Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Hon. Sokari made it clear that only aspirants who have contributed to the development of the society in various capabilities that can render effective representation at that level.

According to him, “It is important we collectively protect our democracy. You delegates can either decide to think of your stomach, throw away competence and sell your votes to the highest bidder or you think of the future of Nigeria, your children and grandchildren and pitch your tent with the most credible candidates, who will not only come out victorious at the polls but a person who will give the people what they want”.

Hon. Sokari reminded the delegates that their decision will determine how well the next four years of their lives will be.

The former Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) official made it clear that he is a better alternative to all the aspirants following his exposure, experience and performance in the past.

Hon. Sokari used the opportunity to congratulate Gov Nyeson Wike, Ahoada West indigenes, Rivers State and Nigerians for successfully celebrating 58th Independence Anniversary and wish the country many more years of fruitfulness ahead.    

 “I have been tested and found worthy and so apart from ensuring that my constituents voice is heard in the hallowed chamber, I will ensure the sponsorship of bills that will position my area especially in terms of speedy development, empowerment of our women and youths as well as the improvement of the security situation through effective partnership with the security agents,” he said.

Also speaking, IYC officials led by Comrade Prince Okenema, said their support for Comrade Sokari is total as he has been tested and trusted as an upcoming prominent leader who would go places, if given the chance.

“Comrade Sokari is one of our best hands and if encouraged to go to the Rivers State House of Assembly, he will make a huge difference going by his experience, I want all the delegates to consider this young man to improve the welfare of his people and help in the protection of the country’s nascent democracy,” he appealed.
